Consulting Services

Evidence and practice, integrated.

VLA consultants recognize that the right to access and use visual language is not always a given for deaf people.

The Reality

Decisions about deaf people's language are too often made without the knowledge to make them.

The linguistic and cultural knowledge of those who make language and access decisions that impact people who are deaf is frequently insufficient or incorrect. As a result, the opportunity for deaf people to interact, learn, contribute, achieve, and advance is often compromised.

VLA consultants are not only acutely aware of this reality, they often become credentialed experts because of it. Through VLA consulting services you can make the most of their knowledge, skills, and experience.

Our Approach

VLA consulting services integrate evidence and practice.

We recognize that research findings have enormous potential to improve the human condition. They can turn decision making into informed decision making, provide evidence upon which effective policy can be generated, and transform the practices of a profession into best practices. With that in mind, VLA consulting services aim to apply evidence-based research findings to advance opportunities to access, process, acquire, use, and study visual language.
